How difficult is Mera Peak Climb?

Mera Peak climbing is considered to be a moderate to difficult climb. It is also one of the most accessible 6000ers in Nepal. The climb can be physically demanding and the altitude, weather and remoteness of the area can make the climb challenging. Mera Peak climbing requires a good level of physical fitness, proper gear and good level of acclimatization. However, the climb is not technical and doesn’t require any technical climbing skills. Those who are well-prepared and determined to summit Mera Peak can make it to the top and enjoy the breathtaking majestical panoramic views of Himalayas from the top.

Can you see Everest from Mera Peak?

Mera Peak lies at an altitude of 6,476 meters (21,246 feet) and is located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, which is also home to Mount Everest . It is possible to see Mount Everest from the summit of Mera Peak on a clear sunny day, as it depends on the weather conditions. The view of Mount Everest specifically can be obstructed by other peaks in the area and visibility can be affected by weather conditions such as clouds and fog. In addition to Everest on a clear sunny day, from the summit of Mera Peak, you will have a panoramic view of five of the world’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga.

What is the best season to climb Mera Peak?

The months during fall(September-October-November) and spring (March-April-May) are considered as the best seasons to climb Mera Peak. In this season the temperature is moderate with clear sky and the dry trails, which gives us ample opportunity to admire the majestic view of mountain ranges with perfect trekking conditions. During the months of winter (December-February) the temperature is extremely cold with heavy snowfall and during the months of monsoon (June-August) there is heavy rainfall and the trail is slippery with leeches on the way. During the winter and monsoon you should take extra precautions as the unfavorable condition makes it difficult to trek.
