Pilgrims undertaking the journey to these sacred sites often describe it as transformative, returning with cherished memories and a deep sense of peace. A key ritual is the circumambulation of Mount Kailash—‘Parikrama’ in Hinduism and ‘Kora’ in Tibetan Buddhism—a physically demanding yet spiritually enriching trek that strengthens their connection to the divine.
After arriving at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by a representative from Black Diamond Expedition who will drop us off at our hotel. After checking in, we take a rest or visit Black Diamond Expedition office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Black Diamond Expedition where we get acquainted with the excellent Nepalese cuisine.

The day begins with an early morning visit to Pashupatinath to participate in the Rudri Puja ceremony. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast. Following breakfast, we’ll head out for a sightseeing tour of Boudhanath and Patan Durbar Square.
Lunch will be at your leisure, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred spot. The afternoon will be dedicated to final preparations for the Yatra, which might include some shopping. Dinner will also be at your own choice, and you’ll spend the night in Kathmandu, ready for the next day’s journey.

After breakfast, we set off early for Rasuwa Ghadhi, covering a distance of 154 kilometers. Be prepared for some adventure, as roughly one-third of the route is on rough terrain. Along the journey, we pass through the scenic Langtang National Park, navigating several check-posts. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Rasuwa Ghadhi.

After breakfast, we’ll take a short walk to complete the check-out process at the Nepalese immigration checkpoint before proceeding to Chinese immigration. Please note that the Chinese immigration procedures are thorough and require some time. Around midday, we’ll enjoy a brief stroll in Kerong, which will aid in acclimatizing to the high altitude and preparing for the upcoming journey. The day ends with an overnight stay at the hotel.

Our day concludes with an overnight stay at a guesthouse, allowing us to reflect on this extraordinary moment.

We begin the day with a Havan Puja by the sacred Lake Mansarovar, before continuing our journey to Darchen, with a stop at the tranquil Raksas Lake along the way. Upon arrival in Darchen, we’ll spend the night at a local hotel, preparing our luggage for the upcoming Parikrama days. Each pair of travelers will share a duffle bag to keep things manageable. Darchen is a crucial base for pilgrims and trekkers, offering a place to connect with fellow travelers and ensure a safe and spiritually enriching journey. It serves as the starting point for the Kailash Yatra, catering to all the needs of those embarking on this sacred pilgrimage.

Today feels like a divine moment, as if the gates of heaven have opened, offering us a rare glimpse into the sacred realm of gods and goddesses. We’ll embark on a 13-kilometer trek through a stunning valley, with the Holy Ganges River flowing on our left and the towering Mount Kailash casting its awe-inspiring shadow on our right. The emotions of this journey are indescribable—truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Be sure to keep your camera ready to capture the breathtaking views of Mount Kailash. We’ll end the day with a peaceful night at a guesthouse.

Embark on a truly sacred journey to the majestic Mt. Kailash, one of the holiest sites in the world, where you’ll have the rare opportunity to come as close as possible to this revered peak—an act believed to bring the blessings of Lord Shiva. For those ready to embrace adventure, we will begin our hike after breakfast, ascending to an elevation of 5,300 meters (17,388 feet) towards the towering summit of Mt. Kailash. Along the way, you’ll encounter snow-covered terrain, adding to the awe-inspiring experience.
This challenging 8-9 hour trek is best suited for those in good physical condition. Halfway through, the snow-covered path will heighten the thrill of the journey. After the hike, we will return to the guesthouse in Dherapuk for a well-deserved overnight stay.
Please note that this hike is optional, and guests who prefer a more relaxed pace can remain at the guesthouse to rest and enjoy the serene surroundings.

On this day, we embark on the most arduous and spiritually significant leg of our pilgrimage journey. The path leads us through Yamasthal as we head toward Shiva-sthal, with each step bringing us closer to the formidable Dolma-La Pass. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll participate in the most sacred of offerings and find a tranquil spot for meditation. Along this journey, you will also come across Parvatistal and Gauri Kund. By late afternoon, we will have arrived at Zuthal Puk, known as the ‘Cave of Miracles,’ where we will spend the night in a guesthouse.

Throughout your trek of Mount Kailash , we are committed to ensuring your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. You will be accommodated in Kathmandu at Hotel Yatri Nepal or a similar hotel. As your trek commences, your accommodation will be in basic hotels, or teahouses, each offering twin-sharing rooms with attached bathrooms and convenient hot shower amenities. It is available for an additional charge if you desire a single-supplement room. Booking a room in advance affords you better options to select the room or hotel that best suits your preferences.
During your Mount Kailash, Breakfast, Meals, and Dinner are included. At the Hotels where we spend an overnight during the tour, you will be served breakfast, dinner, and lunch. Both non-vegetarian and vegetarian options are offered while you are on the tour. Black Diamond will also arranged a special Welcome dinner for our guests, accompanied by captivating cultural performances, creating a memorable and delightful experience.
The best season for the trek to Mount Kailash trek is between April and May or September and October. It is the best time for outdoor activities such as trekking, and pilgrimage, and also to explore major destinations. Trekkers can also enjoy the festive vibe of the Tibetan Buddhist festival called Saga Dewa at this time.
