Kathmandu UNESCO World Heritage and Scenic Hill Day Tour

Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu, you will meet our representative and then you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have some time to hang aroung the freak street of Thamel. Late evening welcome dinner with cultural program. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we set out on a captivating sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, exploring its rich cultural heritage through several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our first stop is Kathmandu Durbar Square, a stunning display of traditional Nepalese art and architecture, reflecting the grandeur of the Malla dynasty, who ruled from the 12th to the 18th century. Next, we visit Swayambhunath Stupa, famously known as the Monkey Temple due to the lively monkey population that inhabits the hilltop. We then head to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, nestled on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Our final stop is the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest in South Asia, standing proudly along the ancient trade route to Tibet and radiating spiritual serenity.

Our cultural exploration continues with a visit to Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exquisite ancient art and architecture. From there, we head to the charming city of Bhaktapur, a timeless gem that has preserved its authentic Newari lifestyle through centuries of seclusion from Kathmandu’s busy rhythm. As we stroll through the historic city square, we admire architectural marvels like the towering Nyata-Pola Temple, the intricately crafted Golden Gate, ancient water spouts, and the legendary 55-Window Palace—all of which create an enchanting, open-air museum atmosphere for visitors. We’ll also indulge in some of Bhaktapur’s traditional delicacies, offering a true taste of local life.

Later, we make our way to Nagarkot, a serene hilltop village perched at 7,200 feet in the Bhaktapur district. Famous for its sweeping Himalayan panoramas, Nagarkot offers breathtaking views—especially during sunrise or sunset. Based on your preference, we’ll time our visit to witness one of these magical moments over the distant snow-capped peaks.

Today marks the conclusion of our enriching 4-day Kathmandu tour. With hearts full of memories and cameras full of snapshots, it’s time to share stories and exchange photos with fellow travelers. A representative from Black Diamond Expedition will accompany you to the airport approximately three hours before your scheduled departure, ensuring a smooth and timely journey home.
